A word of caution, don't use a name with popular cultural ties. They date quickly and become over used. How many snotty nosed Kylies and Beyonces are running about. Yuk.

Small (tiny) victories
by disposable hero of hypocrisy ini had a conversation with my wife today about child abuse as it's in the news, and i managed to slip in the fact that wt (not an individual, but the .org itself) has just been ruled against in the states to the tune of 13 million or so.
she knows i'm opposed to the procedures we have in place, and she can definitely see that it makes sense to go straight to the police, and said she would do immediately if it were our children.
we had a fairly local case where the elders positively marched the offender to the station themselves, and good for them for doing so, but she most likely thinks everyone would do that out of common sense.

I am just having a minor fantasy:
JW broadcasting "Our outside broadcasting reporter goes right into the court room where Governing Body Mnember Gerrit Losch is being cross examined. Yes, his lip is trembling, beads of sweat have appeared on his brow. Wht's that? He is ladies and gentlemen calling for his mom"

This open sewage stream running through WT ground zero belies all the pseudo-shmaltz and primary coloured bullsh!t coming out of JW.ORG and the new TV broadcast service. As this stream of filth grows and the GB are seen to be wading round in it, the pretty colours are are going to seem grotesque.
Keep digging Mr Zalkin, we will see what genuine light can illuminate, how the nasty secrets can be brought into the new dawn.

This battle reminds me of President Richard Nixon wriggling and thrashing trying to avoid full disclosure of the evidence relating to the Watergate scandal. What did he know? What had he said? What was on those secretly recorded tapes? Despite his best efforts he failed and had to resign in ignominy.
It feels to me like the same clouds are gathering. There is an inevitability about huge disclosures and damning information being revealed The problem is that the constituency that is loyal to these bozos are just immune to any thing that comes out. What will it take to knock this corrupt bunch down and keep them down?
It really feels like things are erupting into some sort of conclusion though. On one side the JW.Org/FDS/GB revolution and on the other the growing phalanx of victims and their lawyers who just won't shut up and won't go away?

Does The State Have The Right To Quarantine Someone Because They Might Have Ebola?
by minimus inno doubt you have heard about the nurse that thumbed her nose to the state and went out of the house in spite of being ordered to stay at home.
what is your opinion on this?.

Would you give her a friendly kiss on the cheek? Until she is proven clear, she should be willing to sacrifice her right to move freely and if she is not prepared to cooperate she has to be quarantined against her will. If she is clear, then we all let out a sigh of relief with her. She emerges outraged but unharmed, everyone goes home safe.

Now we see the reason the GB is disconnecting itself from local congregations, leaving things in the hands of the CO, and getting rid of the DO.
It really doesn't matter how much they try and separate themselves from the local congregations, the connection is still there. JW.Org is a direct link through which the GB speak directly to the congs. The elders and COs are controlled directly by micro-managing instuctions leading right back to the GB. Unless they give the congregations real self-determination it will be ever thus. They can't help it they are a high control organization who have to pull the strings. Every WT article, every assembly item is evidence to that effect.

Purging and letting go of the past
by Skinnedsheep inmy wife and i decided that today would be the day that we would let go of the past.
we collected all of our watchtower published books and brochures and threw them out.
it was honestly bitter sweet to toss our old pioneer books, marked up insight books, and notes from 25 years of conventions.

What is the best advise you have ever been given?
by new hope and happiness inawhile a go i was uptight about a matter i can't remember now and my friend said to me " give the other side the victory".
a while ago my little boy was getting uptight and argumentative with his mum i asked him " to let it go" in effect i suppose " giving the other side the victory".
anyway i am sure our life exsperiences have allowed us both receive and give good advice.

Years ago I had the opportunity to leave my job and start a business. I discussed it with my wife and she said "You've always wanted to try, if you don't you will regret it for the rest of your life. Go for it".
I had kids, the risk was enormous on a family level. I went for it and there followed a 25 year roller coaster ride , I'm just so glad I went for it. So my advice is if you have a dream, make it happen, take the risk.
